Black smithing is a reviving art. While I use traditional techniques in my blacksmith shop of a coal fired forge, hammer and anvil, my work is not simple or old fashioned - and I do use modern tools and techniques when necessary to create the best products.
Browse the photo gallery for a small sample of blacksmith art created at Crossfire Forge.
If you have a design that you would like to develop please let me know and I'll work with you to make your idea a reality.
Working with our customers, we create items that are designed to fulfill the funtion for which they are designed, be it a bottle opener or a complex gate, regardless of the simplicity of the function, artistry can always be included.
When many people think of blacksmithing, they think Forged In Fire and making swords and knives, of shoeing horses ( a farrier's job) . Blacksmithing is and long has been far more than that! Forging metal has been mentioned as far back as some of the earliest books of the Bible, and is a reviving craft today. Forging steel is always an artistic process. Traditonal and functional doesn't mean the item can not be beautiful. We work with the customer to forge items that express the artistic possibilities of steel, limited only by your imagination and my skill.
